IRAN, Qajars. Nasir al-Din Shah, AH 1264-1313 / AD 1848-1896. Order of the Lion and the Sun (Nishân-e-Schir-o-Khorschid) (Silver and Enamel, 68 mm, 37.88 g), Neck Badge, 3rd Class, Military Division. Probably Iranian manufacturing, after 1872. Six-pointed star with silver brillanté, repercé and six red enameled rays; central enameled medaillon with standing lion, holding sabre in its right paw, in front of rising sun (emblem of Imperial Iran). Rare, very well preserved and of best jeweler's quality. Good extremely fine.
